The Fabulous Fox opened in 1929, this movie palace was renovated in 1985 and hosts Broadway shows, concerts and dance presentations. the theater seats 4,500 in an opulent interior of Moorish, Asian, and Indian influences and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tours are available every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 10:30 am. Adults $2.50, children (12 and under) $1.50.

Grandel Theater

Mainstage of the St. Louis Black Repertory Company, the Off Broadway, On Cabaret series, and is used by a number of local companies including Metro Theater, Mid America Dance Company, and the St. Louis Shakespeare Co. The theater is a turn of the century church which was completely renovated in 1993. The second floor grand hall is a ballroom available for business and social functions.

Bob Kramer's remarkable hand-crafted puppets are great fun for the whole family. Seasonal shows in a small, intimate setting and offers a demonstration of puppet crafting to the public. Five seasonal marionette shows including classic stories with a new twist and Christmas and other holiday shows. Show times 11:15 am and 2:15 pm. Adults $5.50, children (2-12) $4.50. Daily demonstration of the art of puppetry, including puppet making, at 10 am and 1 pm. $2. Reservations required.

Outdoor 12,000 seat amphitheater will celebrate its 80th season in 1998 and features Broadway productions and musicals. The outdoor season runs from June-August. Performances begin at 8:15pm. MetroLink shuttle available. The back section of seating is free. There are plenty of free seats, but it is still wise to arrive early.
